  • Here are some basic questions on purchasing drone light show equipment and answers we get on a daily basis multiple times per day from people like you who are seeking to purchase drone light show equipment
  • The main question is how long does it take to take delivery of the drones and start the training, the answer is typically 6-8 weeks as the drones are hand built by us and each set is custom made for our clients. Some months are busier and some are slower, just ask us on our zoom call for a timeline.

  • Question: Are these packages all inclusive?  Can I simply buy a package from you and start making drone shows right away? Is there some hidden or missing item or component that I will need and will be charged more and feel like i should have asked before buying? if so What are the different drone configurations available?

  • Answer: Yes you can buy the Drone Light Show drones packages from us that are essentially “everything you need to make a show”  and  YES, you can create your own custom shows in any shapes, formations or patterns as you like all on your own. Nothing missing to make your own shows. No hidden extra costs.

  • We offer crates for the drones and the dimensions are: 10-ft L x 5-ft W x 6-ft H for the standard size. But we can customize the cases for your use case as well - so just ask.

  • Question, If I buy say 200 drones, can I do two shows of say 100 each at the same time?
  • Answer: Each instance of a drone show needs a laptop, software and a RTK system, so to do two shows at the same time, you would need two laptops and two sets of software, and two sets of an RTK system.

Here are some more questions you may have, and of course feel free to ask more when we speak on zoom.

  • What kind of drones do you sell? What is the brand of the flight computer/controller used? Are they DIY drones or bought from a 3rd party?

We build our drone light show drones ourselves, they are our own custom creation.

What is RTK?

Real-Time Kinematic (RTK) is a technique used to enhance the precision of position data derived from satellite-based positioning systems (global navigation satellite systems, GNSS) such as GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, NavIC and BeiDou.

Type:   F450 Frame base

( we prefer this frame as its easy to make changes to all parts on the fly in the field )

Pixhawk

Dimensions * Diagonal Wheelbase 300mm

Max. flight time 29 minutes

( You can stagger your drones to create shows that are AS LONG AS YOU WANT them to be - no limits on time )

Rotor diameter

22 x 12mm

Weight

282g

Motor

22 × 15mm

What is the cost of each additional drone?

Range is between $220 and $300 but may change depending on labor, and market conditions, in general the more you buy the more you save

Additional drones depend on how many you order and market conditions, when we are busier and if we are ordering a small amount of parts the prices will be higher and if other conditions the prices are lower.

  • What software do you use for the shows? Is it possible to buy the software and drones separately? Is the software permanently mine or am I buying a license for a certain time period? Is there a limit to the number of drones that can controlled by the software?

We have created a plugin that sits on top of an open source software called blender, we do  sell the software alone, ( $2000 ) the plugin is designed to work with our drones that we build . The license is for life.

  • Am I able to create my own shows/animations or do I have to pay your team when I want to create new shows/animations?

You can create anything you like, and you will not need to use us for any programming, you can hire any 3D artist in the world over upwork, or fiver or any 3D animation person anywhere in the world over the internet.

  • Can you provide information on the FAAs rules for drone shows in the USA? Do you have resources/websites where I can learn what the limitations and rules are?

Requirements are a part 107 license with a night wavier and swarm wavier, and lasts for 5 years, so you do not need to apply for each and every show as you have a license for 5 years. https://www.faa.gov/uas/ - there are hundreds of online course to take for an 107 license and its very simple and quick and costs under $500 bucks, so its easy as well, and so is getting insurance, we use Global Aerospace and they are great and easy to work with.
